About the Church
Our identity, heritage and calling
A truly Holy Spirit-guided Christian church denomination — Pentecostal in approach, evangelical and pastoral in operations.
Who we are
The Sacred Cherubim and Seraphim Church
Please note our definite identity: The Sacred Cherubim and Seraphim Church. There is no prefix in any portion of our name. Our formal name, The Sacred Cherubim and Seraphim Society of Nigeria Inc, remains valid under Nigerian law, being under the same Certificate No. 324, which is unavailable to anyone else.
The Church is incorporated with its International General Headquarters at Ibadan, capital of the then Western Nigeria, now Oyo State, about 125 miles north of Lagos.
From its onset in 1925, the Church was an integral part of the whole first Pentecostal movement in Nigeria, founded by Moses Orimolade Tunolase, a native of Ikare in present-day Ondo State.
The Church is bent on setting in motion a new social order to remove the stigma unfairly placed on white garment churches. Building on the foundation laid by the past five General Superintendents — all of blessed memory — the present leadership holds passionately to the doctrine of the Trinity: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost.
